Parental Alienation: A Form of Child Abuse

What is Parental Alienation Syndrome?

The alienating parent feels the need to reinforce their parental identity.
They encourage the child’s rejection of the other parent.
The child is manipulated by one parent to “hate” the other.
The child is “brainwashed” to slander and bad mouth the alienated parent.
The child is manipulated to believe the alienated parent is evil and should be feared.
The child is allowed no contact with the alienated parent, and is not allowed to discuss that parent.
The alienating parent threatens withdrawal of love and affection
All contact with the alienated parent’s extended family is forbidden.
